Creating an extraordinary outdoor living space takes more than great design and premium materials. It takes people who solve problems, support one another and care about the families who will enjoy the finished space.
That spirit was on display at Mosaic Outdoor Living’s annual company picnic, where employees from Englewood, Louisville and Colorado Springs gathered for an afternoon of connection and friendly competition.
One Team, Different Strengths
Because Mosaic’s three showrooms serve communities across Colorado’s Front Range, employees do not all work together every day. The picnic gave team members a chance to reconnect outside their usual roles.
Louisville Office Manager Anna Fabatz organized a Survivor-inspired challenge that mixed employees from different locations into teams. Their first task was fitting: build an outdoor living space together.
“My first goal was introducing people from each office and having everyone work together that we don’t typically work with every day,” Anna said. “I wanted to tap into everyone’s different strengths.”
It was a game, but it reflected Mosaic’s everyday culture: the best results come from people with different talents working toward one goal.
A Culture of Genuine Support
Project Manager Casey Dexter experienced that support in a deeply personal way. After a sudden, life-threatening illness led to months of hospitalization and rehabilitation, her coworkers checked in, brought books, offered encouragement and helped with meals.
“They were right there for me,” Casey said. “It was really nice that I had a company that cared about my well-being and made sure I was doing all right.”
When he returned, Casey saw her workplace from a new perspective.
Collaboration From Design to Construction
That teamwork carries into every Mosaic project. Lead CAD Designer Angela Lawery transforms design concepts into construction plans and 3D visualizations, allowing homeowners to see their outdoor space before construction begins.
Project Developer Aaron Barrington then helps connect those ideas with engineering and local building requirements.
“I work with the team to synthesize the design with engineering standards and building department standards,” Aaron said. “The end result is a safe structure—and an inspiring space.”
The result is work employees are proud to share. Colorado Springs Office Manager Crystal Walker said joining Mosaic changed her idea of what outdoor living could be.
“I didn’t know decks like this were possible to build,” Crystal said. “The way we elevate people’s outdoor living spaces is really admirable and inspiring.”
Build Something Meaningful With Mosaic
Anna initially applied for a design position at Mosaic. Two months later, the company called her about an office manager role that better matched her experience.
“It has completely changed my life working at Mosaic, both professionally and personally,” Anna said. “It’s been the most positive change I’ve had in my adult life.”
Her advice to prospective employees is simple: “If you have a passion for what Mosaic does and what our values are, you’re going to do great here—and Mosaic will love you right back.”
