The Story

One of the biggest design challenges wasn't building the deck—it was preserving a 30-year-old shade tree the homeowners refused to lose. Rather than removing it, **Mosaic Outdoor Living** designed a custom **covered deck** that protected the tree's roots and turned it into the centerpiece of the space. Today, its canopy stretches over a 5-by-8-foot skylight, creating a unique treehouse-like atmosphere.

The project also transformed two aging decks into a seamless **1,300-square-foot outdoor living space** featuring **maintenance-free composite decking**, custom railings, a **Fire Magic outdoor kitchen**, **Rocky Mountain Fire Rail**, hot tub retreat, infrared heaters, motorized shades, and finishes matched to the home. Nearly two years later, the homeowners spend more time outdoors than ever—hosting family and friends, grilling, relaxing by the fire, and taking in mountain views and Colorado sunsets.
